Replacing lost or missing teeth has great benefits not only for your appearance, but your dental health as well. Without the support of your teeth, facial muscles can sag and sink inwards, which can make people appear older, and cause issues with eating, drinking, and speaking properly. A denture is made from hard-wearing material that mimics the look of teeth and gums to give your smile a natural appearance; a great solution for people who have a half or full mouth of teeth to replace, with lifestyle-improving benefits. The benefits of dentures
Supports the structure of your face
Allows you to eat and speak normally
Boosts your confidence with a complete smile
Strong and durable, lasting for up to 10 years
I am an extremely nervous patient and was referred by my own dentist to have a tricky extraction. On arrival I noticed that the practice was a very warm and friendly looking environment it wasn't clinical at all like some dentists. I felt very much at ease by the lovely receptionist, who may I add had pre warned my dentist of my nervousness I really can't express my gratitude to my dentist, the nurse who assisted and the reception staff. They all went above and beyond to make me feel at ease I wasn't rushed at all, everything was at my pace. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Excellent people, thank you so very much for taking care of me.
Dentures treatment process
We’ll have an initial consultation with you to discuss your smile goals, and create a unique treatment plan to start your journey to a complete, comfortable smile. The treatment process:
1. We start by taking impressions of your mouth, which get sent off to the dental laboratory so your dentures can be crafted to match your appearance. 2. Your dentures are designed to fit snugly on your gums, and created to be removable for easy cleaning and maintenance. 3. Once your dentures are ready, you’ll come back in for them to be fitted. This is where we make sure your dentures fit snugly, securely, and comfortably, and discuss how you should take care of your dentures.
What is a denture?
A dental denture is an appliance which is worn to replace lost or missing teeth to enable you to enjoy a healthy diet and smile with confidence.
A complete or full denture is one that replaces all of the natural teeth in either the upper or lower jaws.
A partial denture fills in the spaces created by lost or missing teeth and is attached to your natural teeth with metal clasps or devices called precision attachments.
The base of a denture is called a plate and can be made of either acrylic (plastic) or metal.
The teeth are normally made of acrylic and can be made to match your natural teeth. This is especially important in the case of partial dentures.
